Next walk to be checked - Radbourne

Ian has just been sent details of the Mickleover-Radbourne walk and says he will check it tomorrow. Now that route 54 of the National Cycle Network has been opened up there is a new option to use for walkers wanting to explore this area.

Radbourne church is worth visiting and you can do this by following the Bonnie Prince Charlie Walk with other footpaths hereabouts.

Pictured is one of the distinctive mile posts on route 54 near Mickleover.

Ian was rather disconcerted to find that a dog walker had scooped up his or her dog's mess, put it in a small plastic bag and then hung it from a nearby tree.

When I helped on a litterpick at Edale a year or so back we found some examples of this then.

Charming.

In fact the sheer quantity and variety of bags involved leads me to believe that more than one person had been up to this nasty little trick.

On a brighter note I was much impressed by the monuments to the Pole family in Radbourne church. Well worth a look! I've come across this lot before in Northants.

I just can't understand why anyone would go to the trouble of putting the dog muck in a bag and then hang it on a tree - are they trying to make a point ?
